The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, 37, made a surprise appearance at the 2018 British Fashion Awards.

The mother-to-be stunned the crowd after coming out on stage at the awards wearing a sleek black Givenchy gown. Meghan presented the prestigious British Womenswear Designer of the Year award to the artistic director of Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller.

After accepting the award from Meghan, Clare explained to the audience her relationship with Meghan and how much it meant to her to be surprised with such an incredible award.

The two created a bond after Clare designed Meghan's dress for her wedding back in May.

"This woman is so amazing. I got to know Meghan on such a personal level. To have someone like that trust you on such a personal moment in their life ... I can't thank you enough because it was the most beautiful moment." - Clare Waight Keller

The amazing Meghan Markle has considered herself an advocate for women ever since she was 11 years old. Meghan often expresses that she has a lifelong commitment to social justice and women empowerment. The now-royal, has always tried to put a spotlight on gender equality between men and women, particularly in leadership and politics. Meghan fought for programs to motivate girls and women to see their value as leaders and for support to ensure they have seats at the same table as men do.
